[Ch. 2 of 9] The Day a Tiny Herb Beat a Drug

It was 1982. Although herbs are very commonplace today, back then they were basically unheard of, other than the illegal kind or what you cooked with in your kitchen.

At this point, I had spent 8 years trying new medications to no avail—the last one was Phenergan. For most people it works for nausea, however, it made me pass out.

I began throwing up while unconscious, so there was a high risk I could drown...

…I decided I had to just live with my problem. I simply wouldn't take any more meds and risk all the side effects.

3 months later, my sister called and suggested I try this herbal blend called Tang Kuei. I remember saying back to her, "after 8 years of medications, how is some tiny herb going to make a difference?" She responded "I don't know. But it's worth a try. What if it helps?"

So to get my sister off my back, I began taking it. And for the first time in 8 years, I didn't go into shock—I was able to go to my college classes and function like a healthy person.

That moment changed my life.

I realized how quickly the body could change if it was just given what it needed.

It was in that moment I became passionately driven in the area of natural healing. I fervently pursued and studied nutrition, herbs, aromatherapy, reflexology, kinesiology, homeopathy, flower essences, energy healing, color and sound healing—anything and everything I could find.

If this simple herb blend could make such a difference in my life, what else was out there that could help the people I love?

I kept asking myself—what if other people's physical or emotional pain was because they were missing something easy as well?

But my desire to help you outweighs my fear.
