Mangoes and Oranges for Anti-Depression
Certain foods and beverages carry the resonance of joy, and that can help your body increase its inner odds of happiness. Natural emotional wellness supports your physical, mental and emotional body with particular foods and beverages that can help you feel more joy in life! A couple of my favorite joy emotional care foods, especially for breakfast are mangoes and oranges.

Mango...(emotional benefit: don’t worry, be happy)

Mango, the quintessential flavor of the tropics!  Native to India and Southeast Asia, the mango has symbolized prosperity, love and fertility for thousands of years…aspects which make everyone happy! Known also as the king of fruits in parts of the world, legends speak of Buddha finding peace, tranquility and fulfillment while meditating in his favorite place, a mango grove.  The Hindu's consider it a sacred "food of the gods.”

As a true comfort food, mangoes really make you feel more content. The smooth, sometimes creamy texture is a flavorful cross between an orange and a banana. Mangoes are abundant in vitamins, minerals, lipids, amino acids, antioxidants, are high in fiber and a good source of B vitamins...all soothing and beneficial for the nerves and a positive emotional outlook. Succulent mangoes also provide an enzyme to aid in digestion and soothe your stomach. Rub your belly and smile. Don’t worry! Relax and be happy!

Orange…(emotional benefit: optimism)

Orange is the frequency of happy, happy sunshine. Its bright, cheerful personality brings a smile to faces everywhere. No wonder it’s a favorite morning beverage. Did you know that orange is the third favorite flavor in the world? With that first sip you know it’s going to be a great day!  And because that sip tells your body to be optimistic, you quickly feel the strength to move forward.  That’s why for many, it’s a glass of OJ and out the door we go.

If you are feeling sad, just looking at an orange or smelling the aroma can make you smile. The essential oil that comes from the skin of an orange is used primarily to uplift depression as it helps to stimulate joy and happiness. One of the nice emotional benefits of orange is that it brings happiness with a sense of calm; it warms and cheers your soul while helping to soothe, relax and steady your nerves.

In dreams, oranges can symbolize the sun and new life, the beginning of an optimistic era, or a return to wholeness and self-love. Oranges not only relax your body and mind, they boost your immunity as one of the most excellent sources for vitamin C.
